Antifa Stole My Tear Ducts

To fully understand the gross mishandling of this trial we have to recap what caused this all in the first place, and all the parties involved. On August 23, 2020 Jacob Blake, a 29 year old black man, was murdered by the Kenosha Police Department.

Protests started almost immediately after. On the second day of protests Kyle Rittenhouse traveled to Kenosha, over state lines, in response to online pleas to protect business from protestors. Rittenhouse has been a staunch supporter of the police, previously posting photos of officers  with the caption “Blue Lives Matter” and serving in the Grayslake Police Department as a youth cadet. Videos show Rittenhouse brandishing his semiautomatic rifle intimidating protestors. That night Kyle killed Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, while wounding Gaige Grosskreutz. As a result, Rittenhouse has been charged with five felonies and one misdemeanor. Judge Bruce Schroeder, the judge presiding over the trial, has a reputation for handing down tough sentences, like a woman charged with shoplifting to tell every manager of any store she entered that she had been charged with theft.

Schroeder drew attention shortly before the trial, by not allowing attorneys to refer to the gentleman that died as victims, but allowing the defense to call them looters or rioters if they could prove it. During the trial prosecutors brought forward a lot of facts that should have damaged Rittenhouse’s defense, like the fact that the gun was purchased illegally, or he was a minor in possession of a gun, or he illegally transported guns over state lines. The trial proceeded as any trial does and nothing too out of the ordinary has taken place until a couple days ago when Rittenhouse was allowed to select the final jurors who get to decided his fate. This is an unheard of step by a judge. In almost every case, a courtroom clerk selects the jurors.

Many, including myself, see this as a slap in the face to the victims and an outright display of white privilege. That alone should be cause for a mistrial. The jury went on to deliberate from Tuesday evening until Friday morning where they found the defendant, Kyle Rittenhouse, not guilty of all charges. This is almost certainly gonna spark National outrage, and set a terrible precedent going forward. This is basically a green light for any trigger happy kid to kill in the false name of defense.
